Case Study: Health Nut
Property Profile
Challenge
As a family-owned business since 1988, Health Nut was looking to expand operations beyond the San Fernando Valley. After procuring heightened interest with health being the top of mind for many customers and frequent celebrity visits, such as the Kardashians, Health Nut was seeking its third location in a neighborhood that shared similar values to the brand.
Strategy
By utilizing the Matthews™ extensive database and proprietary marketing, the agents were able to assist Health Nut in finding their ideal next location. The Matthews™ Leasing Division found an off-market site once occupied by Jamba Juice, thanks to a former client from a previous leasing transaction. With six months out from expiration, the agents were quick to contact the landlord at a shopping center in Manhattan Beach that had not changed tenants in over 20 years. The city held a tight-knit community and several locally owned businesses, meeting the values of the brand.
Results
Matthews™ secured a third location for Health Nut that never came on market in Downtown Manhattan Beach at the corner of Morningside and Manhattan Blvd by utilizing their relationships with high-profile tenants and property owners. Located on the end cap of the shopping center, the 1,437 square foot space is positioned in South Bay near bountiful shopping options and award-winning restaurants and chefs.
