In one of the most challenging years on record for the industry, these rising stars surmounted the hurdles and excelled in business and leadership in the community.
Andrew Gross
Serving as a market leader, Andrew Gross manages the growth and development of the Matthews offices primarily in Dallas-Fort Worth. While working on expanding the footprint and reach of Matthews into new markets, Gross also oversees and enhances the support of the management structure. He delivers industry-leading support to agents throughout the country and actively recruits new agents as the company continues to grow.
Gross began his real estate career specializing in net lease, multi-tenant retail and office investment sales. He utilized his deep-seated experience and a specialized degree in real estate finance to represent his client’s best interests while advising them toward short- and long-term investment goals through commercial real estate. Gross quickly became one of the most active agents in the industry. In the past four years, he has closed more than 90 deals and transacted in excess of $200 million in commercial real estate. His notable transactions include an $18 million Walgreens and CVS portfolio, 100,000-square-foot multi-tenant industrial property in Houston and an $8 million Dallas-Fort Worth multifamily portfolio.
Despite the challenges brought on by COVID-19, Gross maintained a strong recruiting pipeline and hired 10 new agents since May. He provided the new hires with a safe work environment based on CDC protocols, social distancing and mask-wearing. Against all odds, he was able to successfully amplify the sense of culture in the workplace and promote a positive and team-oriented work environment. To mitigate some of the uncertainty brought on by the pandemic, Gross increased mentorship and support for new agents who he believes need the most support during this time. Furthermore, he displayed true leadership by ensuring job security for all W-2 employees working out of Dallas. Many brokerage firms have completely gutted their staff leaving the agents with little tools or support. Matthews is not one of those brokerage firms.
Since he began overseeing the Dallas office, Gross has kept the Matthews energy alive by creating a positive and competitive environment that inspires agents to overcome all obstacles and generate business. In fact, in terms of business generation, August 2020 was the most successful month for the Dallas office YTD.
These are just a few reasons we chose Gross as one of the Texas 2021 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s fifth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
